Canyon Solar factory-builds solar canopies that turn large car parks into power generation. We've delivered them for Woolworths, AstraZeneca and CSIRO, and, closest to home for West HQ, for Wests Illawarra Leagues Club, a leagues club just like yours, where the canopy now shades the members' car park and generates power on site.
About 2.8 GWh a year, generated where the club uses it, with the kitchens, gaming floor, air-conditioning and refrigeration running hard day and night. Indicative energy value is around $600k a year, assuming roughly 22c per kWh and most of it used on site, to be firmed with the club's actual tariff.
Covered parking is a visible member benefit: protection from sun and hail, and a better arrival than an open bitumen lot.
The canopy ships EV-ready, so member EV charging can be added as demand grows.
The structure also carries LED lighting, security and CCTV, and is battery-ready for demand management. None of that is in the price above; it rides on the same steel.
For the main member lot, the standout design is the Grand Canyon: a continuous, full-coverage canopy with no gaps over the driving lanes. It gives the highest solar density in our range and a clean architectural roofline that reads as a considered member space rather than a utilitarian car park.
